Christian Education

This team guides all aspects of Faith Formation, including Sunday School for children, teens and adults; the Nursery; our annual Agape Day Camp in the summer; classes at the Autumn and Lenten Wednesday night programs; and other classes and events during the year.  


This team oversees efforts to build our faith family and nurture those who already are a part of the MSLC community. The team’s stated goal is to “stimulate and lead members of the congregation in continuous and concerted endeavors to reawaken the spiritually indifferent and to reach others with the Gospel and attach them to Christ’s church.” 

Family Life

This team offers opportunities for education, encouragement, faith-based action, spiritual practices/rituals and caring conversations. The team seeks to highlight the stages of life and faith that every family encounters, including pregnancy, birth, Baptism, childhood, Communion, Confirmation, college, empty nest, marriage, divorce, aging, care-giving, illness and death. 


This team exercises oversight over all financial affairs of the congregation, to make sure they are being conducted efficiently. The team supervises and coordinates activities of the treasurer and financial secretary. 


This team sees to the maintenance of all church property and makes sure that any needed repairs are made. 

Social Ministry

This team is responsible for extending Christian compassion and helpfulness to the ill, aged, orphaned, underprivileged, imprisoned and any others in need of aid in body or soul. 


This team evokes and promotes the expression of Christian faith in daily living, to teach the Christian use of money, to oversee the congregation’s various ministries, and to lead congregational members to higher levels of giving for the Lord’s work.  

Worship and Music

This team is responsible for the planning of Morning Star’s various expressions of worship, including choir members, vestments, worship candles, altar flowers, technology, and more. 


This team oversees the church’s entire youth program. Annual activities include Wednesday night meetings and activities during the school year, a number of trips to synod and national events during the year, and many opportunities for community service.
